NDPIA and the National Research School in Infections and Antimicrobials (IBA, http://www.ibaschool.no) in Norway will jointly organize the course “Antibiotics and Antibiotic Resistance” 26-30 November, 2018, at Hjortviken Konferens outside Gothenburg. This intensive course features lectures by internationally leading scientists in this important field, opportunities for participants to present their research in poster walks and ample time for discussions and networking with the invited lecturers and course participants.
The course begins at 12 p.m. Monday 26 November and finishes at 3.45 p.m. Friday 30 November. The programme includes lectures, panel discussions and poster-sessions (Tuesday-Thursday) where you can discuss your research with the invited teachers. There will also be scientific lectures describing antibiotic resistance from other perspectives focusing on ethics, public awareness and media as well as information on funding opportunities.

Application/registration for NDPIA members is performed by filling out and submitting the form below. The course, full board (accommodation in shared double rooms) and bus transfers to and from the Landvetter airport are free of charge for NDPIA/IBA members who participate in all activities 26-30 November, submit an abstract and present a poster during the course.
The number of participants is limited to 40 (20 from NDPIA and 20 from IBA). Priority will be given to applicants in relation to how relevant it is for the applicant to participate in the course based on the topic of the personal research project and their motivation in the application form. The course organizers are also aiming for an even distribution of participants from different research groups and universities.
Applicants will be notified about admittance to the course at the latest by 21 September, 2018. Please do not make any travel arrangements related to this course before receiving confirmation of admittance. If the course is oversubscribed a back-up list will be established in the event of cancellations.
NDPIA/IBA can not issue any ECTS for this course. Participants that attend the entire course will receive a course certificate. Decisions on issuing of ECTS are taken locally by the respective participant’s PhD student examiner.
N.B. Cancellation of participation is free of charge until 24 September. However, from 25 September a cancellation fee of SEK 7500 (cost for the full board at Hjortviken) will be applied if the rationale for cancellation is not related to impaired health status of the participant or to the participant’s next of kin. If the course vacancy can be filled from a back-up list, the cancellation fee may be waived.

The bus transfers to and from the venue will depart from the Gothenburg airport Landvetter 26 November at 11 a.m. and leave the meeting venue for Landvetter at 4.15 p.m. 30 November.

Please note that applicants affiliated to departments in Gothenburg are not eligible for co-funding of travel costs.
